Health and Fitness has always been a huge part of my life. I remember dreading the days of being sick watching my friends play outside without me, while I sipped grumpily on not so comforting soup. I’ve always been fascinated with learning new ways to improve my health and new tactics in which can help me stay healthy.
Constantly educating myself made me realize how important a proper nutritious diet is. However, keeping track and monitoring your diet can be quite the hassle and time consuming.
About 2 years ago I came across a few apps that made my life a lot easier.
MyFitnessPal and Workout: Gym tracker & planner (Fitness22). These two apps focus on providing an easy and understandable service that makes diet and exercise tracking, extremely easy and organized.

MyFitnessPal is an app that allows someone to track their diet and log their daily exercise routines and daily step count. Sponsored by Underarmor, this android and iOS app was released in 2005.
This app is ranked #3 for Health and Fitness and has an overall rating of 4.7 out of 5.0 in the iOS App Store.
I can attest to how great this app is. It is very simple to use and has over 6 million foods in the database. There is a built in scanner that allows you to scan bar codes which in return immediately updates your diet log with correct data.
This app is amazing and I will continue to use it.
Another essential app
The Fitness22 app similar to MyFitnessPal, provides numerous amount of exercises to help build muscle, lose weight and get toned.
This app having 3000+ variations of exercises not only gives you the definition of the exercise, but gives you an image and video that can help you learn and perform the exercise properly.
There are guided gym workouts designed by experts along with full workout routines that are free and easy to understand. Options consist of; Beginner, Intermediate and Expert.
Along with all these exercises, you can save your favorite ones, access previous workout history, and choose different types of workouts such as bodyweight, free weight and even time-based.
As soon as I downloaded this app, I assumed I would have to do a bunch of signing up, confirming pop ups and be buried with ads and payment options. I was surprised as soon as I opened the app, I was ready to go and start selecting what muscles I wanted to train.

MyFitnessPal and Fitness22 are both extremely useful apps that provide services that make being healthy fun. The ability to have your daily routines at your fingertips for you to manage and keep track is very helpful to live a healthy life!
